Trent and Bre’s Montana wedding at The Barn on Mullan in Missoula was one for the books. Their venue was amazing, the weather was perfect (even though Missoula likes to act up in the fall), and the vibes were immaculate. I can’t wait to share all about their day in hopes of giving you inspiration for your own Montana wedding photography.
Trent and Bre’s Beautiful Fall Wedding in Montana
I absolutely loved hanging out with Trent and Bre from start to finish on their Montana wedding day. I was able to be fully immersed with them from the moment Bre got her hair and makeup done to going out to the bars after their reception. I’m so grateful for couples who prioritize having full wedding-day coverage because it allows me to document ALL of the fun, candid, and meaningful moments. I get seriously invested in documenting your day, so it means the world when you choose to have me there for all-day wedding festivities.
We started the day off around 11 a.m. at the salon where Bre and her girls got their hair and makeup done, and then we headed to the venue for all the fun ‘getting ready’ photos. Trent and his groomsmen got to hit a few rounds of golf, which was a great way for them to hang out and celebrate the morning of the wedding.
Bre and Trent decided to do a first look before their ceremony, so we arranged to be at a nearby river so they could have a picturesque backdrop. These two also left little surprises for each other throughout the day. One of my favs was when Bre discovered a note attached to the bottom of her shoe that was signed from her and Trent’s cat. CUTE. Once Trent and Bre saw each other for the first time and tears were shed, the wedding party and bride and groom passed around a flask for a a pre-ceremony hangout sesh and a few group pics.
Their ceremony took place at The Barn on Mullan (the most perfect Missoula wedding venue, but we’ll get into that next) with Bre walking down the aisle to one of her favorite songs by The XX. Again, I was so obsessed with the little details these two incorporated all throughout their Montana wedding day.
The Barn on Mullan - The Perfect Montana Wedding Venue
Okay.. for any couple wanting a classic Missoula wedding, The Barn on Mullan is THE perfect venue. First off, the centralized location makes it so accessible (if you’ve been to Missoula, you know how spread out everything is) and there are several epic portrait locations nearby. We were only 10-20 minutes away from this stunning river with mountain backdrops, which is where they had their first look.
The Barn itself provided a really great backdrop for onsite portraits with the dark wood paneling and surrounding golf course with views of the rolling hills. We had no problem finding rad shooting locations either right on the property or super close by. For the reception space, the inside of the barn feels like a literal fairytale with all of the romantic lights and chandeliers in the evening. For anyone who hears “barn” and immediately thinks of intense rustic vibes, I can assure you it’s not giving square dance hoedown!
And to top it all off, The Barn on Mullan is on the more affordable side of Montana wedding venues, yet still provides everything you need to have the best wedding day possible!
