What goes into creative concepting a film portrait photoshoot?

Creating the vision and creative direction for a film photoshoot is a very collaborative process between me and the client. I always start by asking you to send any ideas or inspo you might have for the shoot. I'll use this as a jumping off point to start pulling in my own inspiration and building off your ideas.

Then I'll put ideas to (digital) paper with a couple different mood boards. These are basically one pagers with a bunch of different photos pulled from different sources that fit with the look and feel you want to go for. For a more traditional professional portrait shoot, the mood boards might be more literal ideas for posing or group shots or settings.

For a personal branding shoot or new business photos, the mood boards could be more abstract and capturing the look and feel of the overall brand. (This could also be part of a small business branding package which could include logo and brand design in addition to photography.)

If you're stumped on a vision or want me to take the lead I'm happy to do that as well! In I'll put together a couple different options for locations with my recommendation mood boards to give you some ideas. I'll also help chat through styling for the shoot and deciding what to wear.
